Steven Walton

Steven is a leading engineer in river recreation, known for expertise in wave design, hydraulic WaveShaper operations, and 3D hydraulic modeling. As a kayaker, he brings firsthand experience in designing high-performance features, applying advanced hydraulic principles to create high-quality recreational features that are also stable and low-hazard. Steven served as a design engineer for Tulsa Wave Park and WOKA Whitewater Park, playing a critical role in technical design, construction, start-up, and tuning. In 2023, he spent months on-site at WOKA, collaborating with the contractor to fine-tune each feature ahead of its grand opening. As Merrick Whitewater’s Technical Manager, Steven drives project success through rigorous quality assurance reviews across all designs.
