Sam Swanson

As an expert kayaker and river surfer, Sam has a personal connection to the whitewater parks he designs. He’s well-versed in all stages of a river recreation project, with a particular interest in project conception, feasibility, design, and start-up and tuning. He played an integral role in post-construction testing of the Tulsa Wave Park and WOKA Whitewater Park, as well as hydraulic modeling and design for Merrick Whitewater’s recent project, Reynold’s Landing. With 20 years of whitewater experience, he’s well-qualified to identify and address river hazards, balance the interests of restoration and recreation, and help realize the full potential of any river park project.
