Daniel Swanson, PE

Daniel Swanson is a civil engineer with experience delivering whitewater recreation projects that balance hydraulic performance, public safety, constructability, and user experience. His background includes planning and design for low-head dam modifications, river access improvements, whitewater features, fish passage structures, and channel stabilization projects. Daniel’s technical expertise includes hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, HEC-RAS and HEC-RAS 2D modeling, scour evaluation, water quality assessment, alternatives development, and coordination with clients, stakeholders, and specialty subconsultants to advance complex river projects from concept through implementation. Daniel currently serves as the Project Manager for Merrick Whitewater’s Scott Avenue Dam and Fleur Drive projects.
