Dan Shea, PE

With over 30 years of industry experience, Dan brings extensive civil engineering expertise by leading Merick’s whitewater team in the design and construction of river recreation projects. He is a recognized expert in river construction, with specialized knowledge of nature-inspired techniques such as sculpted concrete and grouted boulder structures. His broad skill set also encompasses the preparation of design and construction documents, physical modeling, hydraulic gates, WaveShapers, and the operations and maintenance of river parks. As senior project manager for both the Tulsa Wave Park and WOKA Whitewater Park, Dan successfully oversaw the design, construction, and commissioning of these landmark Oklahoma projects. In his current role as Program Director, Dan continues to uphold an exceptional commitment to quality across all of Merrick’s whitewater initiatives.
